Mac n cheese? On a pizza? Yes. It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s filling. My kids love it. They get excited when they see I’ve put one of their favorites – mac n cheese- on top of one of their other favorites – pizza. A meal that meets my kids’ approval? A rarity in our household, so this pizza is a win!
In my opinion, this pizza is best with homemade mac n cheese, but boxed pleases my children just the same and it’s easier and quicker to make. Prepare the boxed mac n cheese per box directions while you prep the meat and veggie toppings.
Cook the chopped onion, ground beef, Montreal steak seasoning, and the optional chopped bell pepper until the meat is browned and veggies start to soften. Drain the grease and set aside. If you desire bacon, cook it now too to crispy perfection.
Roll out the pizza dough (my perfect pizza dough recipe makes 2 pizzas worth of dough) and place it on a floured pizza pan. Smother the crust with beer cheese as the base.
Follow by spreading the mac n cheese all over the pizza. Sprinkle with garlic salt and top with shredded colby jack cheese. Then, the meat and veggie mixture.
Cook in a preheated oven or smoker at 450 for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden. Once cooked, add any extra optional toppings you desire. We like chopped red onion, pickles, and tomatoes on ours. Shredded lettuce could also be an option if you like that kind of thing on your burgers!
